Levins, Mackie named MileSplit U Performers of the Week

Southern Utah's Cameron Levins and Brigham Young's Nachelle Mackie have been named the MileSplit U National Performers of the Week.

Levins clocked the nation's fastest 5000-meter time to date at 13 minutes, 18.47 seconds, in an impressive win at the 54th Annual Mt. SAC Relays. Levins defeated a stellar field that included the 2011 NCAA cross country champion, Arizona's Lawi Lalang (13:18.47). The senior from Canada posted the second-best time in the world and an Olympic A standard on his way to victory.

Mackie hauled in a collegiate leader in a second-place finish in the 800 at the Mt. Sac Relays. Mackie had the second-fastest time of the meet behind Saucony's Molly Beckwith, who ran 2:00.34. Macki's time positioned her No.3 in the latest world rankings.
