Christian Gravel remains the individual favourite as he has all season with things relatively unchanged in the individual race. Although Dover Bay remains a slight favorite, Gravel's St. George's team has emerged as potential challenger and will look to defend its provincial title from the past two seasons.

After spending the season atop the poll, defending champions West Point Grey Academy will face a challenge at the provincial championships from Nanaimo and District. Last year's defending champion Tanya Humeniuk enters the weekend as the favourite to defend her title but may face a challenge from Miryam Bassett and Alex Siemens.
