The inaugural Bob Reid's Magical Mile took place in Victoria, BC on April 13th on  nearby commuter trail. This race - one of several different age-groups featured the Univeristy of Victoria Vikes athletes as well as Clifford Childs and Geoff Martinson. The main feature of this race is the format of the start, which was done in a staggered format, fastest going first, slowest going last. The out and back course allowed athletes to see each other on the return.

Jim Finlayson of Victoria, BC will attempt to take down the Canadian master’s (40-plus) age-group record for the half-marathon, Sunday March 23rd at the Comox Valley Half Marathon in Courtney, BC. The current record is held by Kingston, Ontario’s Steve Boyd, which stands at hour and six minutes and thirty-three seconds. The race starts at 11:00 AM PST.

Cameron Levins of Black Creek, British Columbia, capped his 2010 cross-country season Saturday, November 27th with a stunning victory at the AGSI Canadian Cross Country Championships in Guelph, Ontario.

Levins (29:25.7) finished 24 seconds ahead of the favoured, Rob Watson and 39 seconds ahead of Canada’s fastest marathon runner, Reid Coolsaet, both of whom train with the Speed River Track Club in Guelph.

He is currently red-shirting at NCAA Div 1, Southern Utah University where he is working on his degree in Exercise Science.
