The University of Wisconsin's track and field programs will be represented by three athletes on the international stage this week, as the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships are set to take place in Moncton, Canada, beginning Monday.

Emily Sisson, who will join the Wisconsin women's track and field team this fall, ran a personal-best time of 9:16.80 to grab 10th place in the 3,000 meters on the opening night of competition in Moncton, Canada.

Providence's Shelby Greany Qualifies For 3,000 Meter Steeplechase Final At IAAF World Junior Track And Field Championships Jul 20, 2010

Providence College student-athlete Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.) competed for the United States in the 3,000 meter steeplechase today (July 20) at the IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships in Moncton, Canada. Greany placed fifth in her heat in a time of 10:18.74, qualifying her for the 12 person final, which will be held on Thursday night (July 22nd) at 6:30 PM.

Incoming Gamecocks Competing At IAAF World Junior Championships Jul 20, 2010

Two incoming University of South Carolina freshmen, Nejmi Burnside and Sanura Eley-O'Reilly, will compete this week at the 13th IAAF World Junior Championships that are being held in Moncton, Canada at the Stade Moncton 2010 Stadium. Burnside will compete in the 400-meter hurdles and the 4x400m relay for the Bahamas. Eley-O'Reilly (Fayetteville, N.C.) will run on the gold medal favorite USA 4x400m relay.

OU Signee Competing at World Jr. Championships Jul 20, 2010

Incoming Oklahoma Track and Field student-athlete Caroline Erdhart is set to compete in this week's IAAF World Junior Championships as a member of Team Canada. The soon-to-be OU freshman is a three-time Canadian Junior National Champion, accomplishing the feat twice in the triple jump and once in the long jump. The Espanola, Ontario, native will compete in both events in front of fans from her home country in Moncton, Canada, and gets started with the triple jump on Wednesday.

Peachee to run in World Jr. Championship on Friday Jul 20, 2010

HPU freshman Dakota Peachee of the men's track team will become the Panthers' first-ever competitor at the World Junior Championship when he runs in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday at 9:45 a.m. (Eastern) in Moncton, Canada. Nittany Lion Evonne Britton (El Paso, Texas) continued to shine against outstanding competition at the IAAF World Junior Championships on Wednesday, capturing a heat victory in the 100-meter hurdle semi-finals to claim a lane in tomorrow night's final at Moncton 2010 Stadium. Britton was not the only member of the Penn State contingent in action, as incoming freshman Kirsten Nieuwendam (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) represented her native Surinam in the semi-finals of the 100-meter dash, but failed to advance to the next round.

Hunter wraps up historic HS career with 6th place finish at Worlds Jul 22, 2010

Photo by Victah Sailer of PhotoRun.net   Justin Hunter wrapped up his historic high school career as one of the greatest jumpers all-time in Virginia high school track & field on Wednesday at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Moncton, Canada. The 2010 graduate of Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, Hunter qualified for the finals of the long jump with the fifth best mark in Tuesday's preliminary flights. In the finals, Hunter was unable to improve upon his mark and place from the prelims with a best mark on Wednesday of 24'7" to finish sixth overall against the best junior athletes (ages 19 & under) in the entire World. Hunter now heads to Knoxville, Tennessee where he will take his multi-sport talents to the University of Tennessee and figures to be star in both football and track & field for the Volunteers.
