Central Dauphin grad Ryan Whiting capped his scholastic Shot Put career with a PR and a meet record in the Shot Put and Discus, respectively. He threw the junior implement shot (6kg-/13.23lbs) to PR by one centimeter. In a quote from the Pan-Am meet, Whiting said, \"\"The key today for me was to keep level out of the back and keep my left arm up. I have been practicing a lot with the 16-pounder, so throwing this one (13.2 pounds) was a bit strange.\" Whiting\'s winning throw of 19.75m (64-09.75), came on his fourth attempt. In the Discus, he went 61.40m (201-05.25), a Pan-Am meet record, a meet record.
In Sunday\'s 400 Hurdles final, Nicole Leach didn\'t end her scholastic career on a note she had envisioned, finishing 7th in 1:05.03.
