The formidable team from St. Ignatius made their way to Maplewood on Thursday for the annual Oscar Grant XC Invitational. The Cleveland-based Wildcats group captured first in the standings with all scorers crossing the line inside the overall top fifteen for 32 points in a dominant showing. Howland and Canfield trailed in second and third with 81 points and 83 points, respectively. 

Individually, Matt Kelly earned the triumph with a 16:11.30 mark. This is the St. Ignatius junior classman's second win of the season (Riverside Kickoff Invite ~ 16:14.68). 

On the girl's side, it was Caleigh Richards who claimed the victory with a 19:34.0 clocking. Richards, the state's top ranked freshman, also led her Maplewood squad to first in the team standings with 36 points. Howland was second after collecting 56 points with Megan Hipple leading the way for the Tigers due to a runner-up finish, individually, in 19:48.10.
