Tnfnorth OFSAA Poll #3 presented by The Running Works

This year's TnfNorth OFSAA Cross Country Poll is brought to you by The Running Works (Guelph's Running and Active Lifestyle Specialists)

Thanks the coaches who participated, Randy Givogue (TISS), Kevin Dillon (Dwyer), Bill Cunliffe (Courtice), Dave Scarrow (Massey), Al Baigent (Neil McNeil), Mike Smith (Highland). The coaches picked the top 5 in each category and points were awarded 5,4,3,2,1. Previous ranking is in brackets after the point total

SENIOR GIRLS TEAMS

In a game of musical chairs the top two keep switching places. St Christophers was the first to hold the top spot only to be knocked to second in the second poll but as of now they are back on top with a complete reversal of voting points from last time. Massey now holds the #2 spot. SWC gets knocked from third all the way down to fifth as TISS continues its move up the rankings going from #5 to #3. Westdale also jumps past SWC moving to #4. Centennial sits in a tie with SWC matching SWC 7 points. Joining the rankings for the first time is Regiopolis. Our Lady of Lourdes holds down the last position.

2. Massey - 22 pts (1)
3. TISS - 14pts (5)
4. Westdale - 8 pts (6)
5. SWC - 7 pts (3)
6. Centennial - 7pts (7) 
7. Regiopolis (Kingston) – 2 pts (not ranked)
8. Our Lady of Lourdes - 1 pts (4)

Other teams which received no votes but were mentioned as watch fors include Theriault, Newmarket, Crothers and MCVI


INDIVIDUAL SENIOR GIRLS

Jamie Phelan, Rachel Faulds and Hilary Stafford hold onto their top 3 spots but Gabriele Stafford off her Pre OFSAA win moves onto the ranking lists for the first time. Olivia Little maintains her 5th spot while Phoebe Cseresnyes drops to #7 behind previously unranked Heather Petrick.


TOP 5 Individual Senior Girls (Perfect score is 30)

1. Jamie Phelan - 27 pts (1)
2. Rachel Faulds - 22 pts (2)
3. Hilary Stafford - 17 pts (3)
4. Gabriele Stafford – 14 pts (not ranked)
5. Olivia Little - 6 pts (5)
6. Heather Petrick – 3 pts (not ranked)
7. Phoebe Cseresnyes - 1 pt (4)

Other names to watch for include Katie Fisher, Renee Maisenueve and Natalie Hawthorn.


SENIOR BOYS TEAMS

MVCI Once keeps the number one spot with a perfect score of 30 for the third time in a row. Amongst the rest of the teams only Massey maintains it previous ranking in 4th. St Mikes moves from #3 to #2. General Panet continues its drive to the top moving from #5 to #3. Previous #2 SWC drops to #5. Previously unranked Huron Heights and Courtice hold spots 6 and 7 with TISS taking the final votes for #8

1. McLaughlin - 30 pts (1)
2. St Mikes - 20 pts (3)
3. General Panet - 18 pts (5) 
4. Massey - 10 pts (4)
5. SWC - 5 pts (2)
6. Huron Heights – 2.5 pts (not ranked)
7. Courtice - 2.5 pts (8)
8. TISS – 2 pts (not ranked)

INDIVIDUAL SENIOR BOYS

The individual race still appears to be a three man race with Flanagan, Sleiman and Coughler maintaining the same positions as last poll. Most likely because of his Pre OFSAA win Ben Preisner moves to #4 from his unranked status two weeks ago. Following Preisner there are 5 other runners separated by a total of 3 points.
